Wound Care Advantage Celebrates 12 Years As Leaders In Wound Care Management

Melissa Bailey

Wound Care Advantage (WCA), LLC, a leader in the wound care management industry, announced recently that September 2014 marks the company’s twelfth anniversary of its founding.

Twelve years ago, WCA’s founder and CEO, Michael Comer, changed wound care management from traditional to innovative with an approach that gave hospitals control of their own outpatient wound care clinics.

“We started Wound Care Advantage with the focus of reducing the prevalence of amputations caused by wounds,” Comer said. “More than 50 percent of all amputees will dies within five years, our goal was to change that number.”

More than 12 years ago, WCA signed their first contract with Lancaster Community Hospital, which has grown into a partnership with Palmdale Regional Medical Center.

“The landscape of healthcare has changed so drastically in the last 12 years and I feel so fortunate to have had a front row seat during that time,” he said. “I strongly believe those changes will result in better care and I know Wound Care Advantage will be at the forefront.”

Today, Wound Care Advantage continues to operate under the same values it was founded upon serving hospital partners across the nation. With the introduction and successful roll out of Modular Management to being the first company to bring Google Glass to an outpatient wound care setting; WCA has remained pioneers in the wound care management industry.

“I am immensely proud of the strides our team has made in the last 12 years and I look forward to these next 12 years,“ Comer said.
