Wound Care Advantage Hosts First Wound Care And Hyperbaric Conference For Partner Hospitals

The newest addition to WCA's education and training department.

Wound Care Advantage (WCA) hosted its first Wound Care and Hyperbaric Conference on February 25-26, educating wound care teams from partner hospitals across the country. The conference is the newest addition to WCA’s education and training department and strengthens the company’s commitment to educate wound care clinicians, physicians, hyperbaric technicians and program directors in the WCA family of centers.

Conference attendees experienced a hands-on, interactive meeting, learning new skills and reinforcing evidenced-based treatments for wound care patients. The conference schedule included more than 30 individual seminars and practicums designed to meet current needs within an ever-changing industry.

When hospitals and health systems partner with WCA they join a network of advanced wound care education. Partnering hospitals benefit from Luvo University, the online learning management system within the Luvo operating system. Luvo University provides 24/7 online education via a robust video-based, 100+ course catalog.

“We believe that the amount of education we provide for hospital teams is directly related to improving patient healing rates and times in wound centers nationwide,” said Nancy Zeller, President of Wound Care Advantage.

The Wound Care and Hyperbaric Conference was so successful that the team at WCA is already planning the second annual event, which should take place at the end of February 2017.

“The success of our conference came from the collaborative efforts of all our partners who believe in the vision of Wound Care Advantage,” commented Melissa Bailey, VP of Education & Training at Wound Care Advantage. “As we said at the conference, patient care is and will remain our top priority and that’s a vision that all of our industry and hospital partners can rally around and support.”

Vendors also played an important role at the conference, with hands on demonstrations of their products and industry supported lunch and dinner symposiums.

“Everyone we spoke with was extremely excited to be involved in this first conference,” Zeller said. “We would especially like to thank all of our vendors who are an important part of this wound healing team.”

Wound Care Advantage also collaborates with the Wound Care Education Institute (WCEI) to offer discounts and special incentives to our partner hospital’s wound healing teams.

Transitioning wound care management providers can be a complex undertaking. WCA provides transition specialists to guide hospital executives through the entire process, making it as smooth as possible.
