7 Reasons Why We Should Be Co-Workers

Melissa Bailey

I have been thinking a lot lately about how thankful I am to work for such an incredible company. I have a lot of friends who are unhappy in their current jobs and like anything it is easy for me to take for granted how much I respect the team at Wound Care Advantage. We currently have some great openings including a California based Account Manager position and a Medical Coder position. Here are seven reasons why I consider WCA the best company to work for in 2015.

1. Respect For Our Leaders
I have worked for a lot of companies, and after a while I didn’t always respect the leaders.I have been in the wound care industry for almost eight years and I have never seen a group of talented executives like ours all working towards the same goals. This fall I will reach my three year mark at WCA and my respect for our leaders increases with each day. Not only do I respect these leaders, they respect their employees back, and this creates a great working environment.

2. Patient Care Really Is Always First
If you got into healthcare to make a difference, you found the right place. When you start working at WCA you realize quickly that everyone’s bottom line is doing their job to help provide great patient care. We are all motivated for different yet similar reasons. Everything that we do is geared towards the theory that if we can help provide great patient care then everyone wins.

3. You Are Treated Like A Person
At so many companies you are treated just like a cog that can easily be replaced. I have never seen a company value talented people as much as they do at the WCA. My father’s health recently declined and I was blown away that our CEO and President reached out to me personally, telling me to spend as much time with him as I can. Great kindness like this just makes me want to work even harder for the company and it is something that I will never forget.

4. Hard Work Is Recognized
In the past three years I have witnessed first hand the promotion of a lot of hard working people at Wound Care Advantage. Hard and smart work is respected and appreciated. In that time, employees have risen through the ranks from assistant to VP status. It’s a great culture to be part of, and I enjoy seeing others growing into new roles.

5. Leading the Industry
We have amazing departments and teams, which have always made it possible for us to be fast and agile and lead the wound care industry. I am so proud of my coworkers in our use of video, graphics, web and social marketing. But we are also doing cutting edge things in every department from clinical management, billing and coding, business development, HR, IT, education and more. It is humbling and awesome to be a part of it.

6. Egos Are Left At The Door
In any type of business there are big egos, but here we do our best to leave ours at the door. Our CEO and founder Mike Comer has set a firm example. He has told us often that he is nothing without his team and if you can’t work in a true team setting we may not be the right fit for you.

7. Never Boring
You will never be bored working at Wound Care Advantage, and if you are you may need to get your pulse checked. Passion for making healthcare a better experience is around ever corner. New projects are sprouting up all the time.

If it isn’t evident by now, I am a huge fan of this company and I enjoy spreading the word about it. To view our open positions and all other current openings visit https://woundcareadvantage.bamboohr.com/jobs/
