LOS ANGELES—25.8 million children and adults in the United States—8.3% of the population—have diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association.
Somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, a diabetic loses a limb. Wound care decreases the number of amputees and improves the overall quality of life for diabetic patients. Wound Care Advantage puts patient care first and was able to demonstrate support for their diabetic patients by walking with the American Diabetes Association on Nov. 2 in Griffith Park at the Annual Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes.
“As we care for our patients they consider us to be part of their family and vice versa. The support we are able to give to them in our everyday care means the world to them and any awareness we can give to the outside world is important to the entire population who struggle with this disease. That is why we walk,” said Karen Redmond, Sr. Vice President of Wound Care Advantage.
