At Wound Care Advantage, we understand the challenges that come with operating a wound care center. It requires a delicate balance of managing resources, staying up to date with regulations, and providing exceptional patient care. That's why we approach Wound Center Operations Support differently than other companies. We take a collaborative approach, working closely with our partners to understand their unique needs and goals. Our team of experts provides ongoing support, using the latest technology and tools to ensure the center runs smoothly and efficiently. In this Q&A with Vice President of Center Operations, Michael Curran, we'll discuss how our approach to Wound Center Operations Support sets us apart from the rest.
Q: What does WCA do differently when it comes to supporting operations?
A: What makes us unique from other companies is that we truly and passionately listen to our clients' needs. Wound Care Advantage works with our partners to understand their specific needs and goals, and we define success in alignment with those goals. We believe in maintaining ongoing communication throughout the implementation process and throughout the duration of the contract to ensure that everyone is working towards the same objectives. This allows us to make adjustments as needed and ensures that the partnership is successful in achieving the desired outcomes.
Q: What level of support is offered to WCA clients?
A: Wound Care Advantage offers flexible and customizable levels of operational support to meet the unique needs of each center. Our support options range from full staffing support to consulting and technology solutions, and we are committed to finding timely and effective solutions for our partners' needs.
To deliver this support, we have a Regional Operations team that consults and assists with any program. Additionally, our Management Technology Suite, Luvo, provides day-to-day operational support for wound care centers. The Luvo Portal offers on-demand resources including educational opportunities, documentation support, and a product formulary that is accessible to all staff within the center. We take pride in offering a variety of resources through Luvo to help centers achieve their goals and deliver the best care possible to their patients.
Q: What are the top areas centers need the most support with?
A: Staying up-to-date with regulations and best practices is a common area where many centers require support. In the field of Wound Care, regulations are particularly strict and constantly evolving, making it challenging for centers to keep up. To assist with regulatory compliance, Wound Care Advantage offers a variety of support options.
Our LCD Tracker, available through our Management Technology Suite, Luvo, houses, maintains, and updates all NCDs/LCDs/LCAs for each MAC that is applicable for centers. We also offer Documentation support for a second set of eyes on patient charts and accompanying documentation to reduce Medicare denials for potential HBO or CTP candidates. Our Regional Operations teams are also available for additional support.
We understand the severe consequences of non-compliance and strive to provide resources to ensure our partners are staying compliant. Through Luvo, we offer a range of resources to support centers with understanding regulations and implementing best practices, ultimately helping them deliver the best care possible to their patients.
Q: What other WCA Services assists centers in wound center operations?
A: WCA has developed an approach for our partners where there is always a resource available whether on demand or driven by our teams. Between our Luvo Technology Suite and our teams, there are subject matter experts on most topics relating to wound care or HBO. We have developed educational resources in Luvo University for high point topics, and other support modules such as the product formulary to address wound care products. Our teams are always just a chat away.
Q: Is there anything additional you would like to add in regards to our operations support offerings? Are there any other ways WCA provides support?
A: Having the WCA operations team on your side means having access to a wealth of expertise and resources to help navigate the complexities of wound care operations. Our team is dedicated to supporting our partners in achieving their goals, whether it's through providing consulting services, technology solutions, or ongoing education and support. We understand the challenges that come with managing a successful wound care program, and we're here to help every step of the way.
