In 2021 The Los Angeles Business Journal named WCA in their annual edition as one of The Best Places to Work in Los Angeles. We were incredibly proud. The award was decided primarily by employee satisfaction, employee experiences, and the HR practices of each company. We go above and beyond to make sure WCA is not just a place that provides jobs, but one that provides careers where people can thrive both professionally and personally.
Family First
Work/life balance is not just something we talk about during job interviews, it’s a staple in our culture. It’s represented in all of our policies, management training, and day to day operations. We offer a generous amount of paid time off, paid sick leave, and holidays throughout the year to both our full time and part time team members. On top of that, employees are given an additional five days off every year, separate from their existing PTO, to spend time with family and friends throughout the year or during the holidays.
Professional Development
We hire people, not positions. When a new employee is hired by WCA, it’s not always because we read their resume and they checked every box. They were hired because our team saw something unique and recognized not only who this person is, but who they could be. When we sense passion, commitment, and grit in an applicant, we hire them and worry about their role later. We also love promoting from within. Nothing makes us happier than watching our employees grow into the person they want to be.
Make a Difference
WCA was founded to create a better world for people living with non-healing wounds, but we don’t just stop there. We wanted this philosophy to expand beyond our company in order to impact the communities that surround us. In that spirit, WCA offers its employees four days every year to spend volunteering for any cause that matters to them. This can include working with an animal shelter, distributing food at a local food pantry, or even being a chaperone for their child’s field trips.
Community
When Covid hit in 2019, WCA sent their corporate employees to work from home that March. In the following two years, we did everything we could to continue building a sense of community, even from a distance. This included digital wine tastings over Zoom for the holidays, a pumpkin carving contest for Halloween, and a cookbook made up of recipes sent in from employees across the country. It’s been a tough couple of years, but we’ve done what we can to make the most of it and stay close as a company.
